چکیده

Background: Based on the onset of events, most common neonatal sepsis is early-onset (EONS), which occurs within first 72 hours life. Blood culture gold standard for EONS, but this examination takes a long time to provide results. However, latest method obtained determine shift left granulocytic image by counting Immature Granulocyte (IG). This study aims evaluate accuracy IG Ratio diagnosing EONS in neonates suspected having sepsis. Methods: A cross-sectional observational was conducted among 60 patients consecutively, who met inclusion criteria from January June 2022 at Prof. dr. I.G.N.G Ngoerah Hospital, Bali. Variables assessed included age, gender, delivery methods, birth status, birthweight, blood culture, complete count (CBC), I/T ratio, and ratio. Data were analyzed using SPSS version 23 Windows. Results: The cut-off point 2.21 (AUC=0.670 (0,490-0,851); p=0.041; OR: 8.021 (2.283-28.185); p=0.001), had sensitivity 64.7% specificity 81.4% results also Negative Predictive Value (NPV) 85.35 Positive (PPV) 57.89. Conclusion: has risk factor times higher with

Eosinopenia and Neutrophil to lymphocyte ratio as diagnostic tools in neonatal early onset sepsis -a single center observational study

Background and Objective: Neonatal sepsis is associated with high mortality and has a favourable outcome when recognized and treated in a timely manner. In resource-limited settings, there is a need for an affordable test with a short turnaround time for timely diagnosis of sepsis. The aim of this study was to find out the role of eosinopenia and neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) in screenin...

Evaluation of Immature Neutrophil Ratio and Calprotectin Level for the Diagnosis of Neonatal Sepsis

Background: Sepsis is defined as a systematic inflammatory reaction against infection. Despite the recent advances in medical and pediatric sciences, sepsis remains a significant life-threatening health issue. The main problem associated with this disorder is the nonspecific and non-discriminative symptoms of noninfectious diseases. The present study aimed to introduce diagnostic parameters of ...

Diagnostic Role of Serum Haptoglobin level in Early Onset Neonatal Sepsis

Background: Introduction: Searching for an ideal marker for diagnosing neonatal infection is still an important concern in every country. There are many biomarkers reported for neonatal sepsis. Haptoglobin is an acute phase reactants which rise in response to infection and injuries. In this report we discussed the efficacy of serum haptoglobin level in different cut off levels in early onset ne...

Epidemiology of Neonatal Early-onset Sepsis

Neonatal early-onset sepsis (EOS) continues to be a significant source of morbidity and mortality among newborns, especially among very-low birthweight infants. Epidemiologic risk factors for EOS have been defined, and considerable resources are devoted to the identification and evaluation of infants at risk for EOS. The widespread implementation of intrapartum antibiotic prophylaxis for the pr...
